Everest south side summits
Nepal’s Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has released the official reports on today’s Everest summits achieved from the south side – the first this season. A total of 27 people topped-out today from the South Col. 7:45 a.m: Mountain Madness First to summit Everest from its south side were, according to the Ministry’s report, the following four members and seven High Altitude Workers of "Mountain Madness Everest Expedition 2007" 1. Mr. Guillermo Benegas (39 yrs), USA 2. Mr. Erik Lane Dalzell (24 yrs), USA 3. Mr. Eirik Tryti (48 yrs), Norway 4. Mr. Bjorn A.B. Evensen (40 yrs), Norway 5. Mr. Lhakpa Norbu Sherpa (29 yrs), Namchhe-2, Solukhumbu, Nepal 6. Mr. Chhonwa Nurbu Sherpa (47 yrs), Chaurikharka-7, Solukhumbu,Nepal 7. Mr. Nima Ondeki Sherpa (34 yrs), Juving-1, Solukhumbu, Nepal 8. Mr. Tshering Wnagchu Sherpa (24 yrs), Namchhe-5, Solukhumbu, Nepal 9. Mr. Ang Pemba Sherpa (28 yrs), Namchhe-7, Solukhumbu, Nepal 10. Mr. Maila Tamang (40 yrs), Narayanthan-6, Kabhre, Nepal 8:48 a.m: Super Sherpas Ministry officials confirm the summit of two Nepalese members and five high altitude workers of "Super Sherpa Everest Abhiyan 2007" team: 1. Mr. Apa Sherpa ( 47 yrs), Thame-7, Solukhumbu, Nepal 2. Mr. Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa (40 yrs), Juving-1, Solukhumbu, Nepal 3. Mr. Passang Geljen Sherpa (21 yrs), Juving-1, Solukhumbu, Nepal 4. Mr. Arita Sherpa (47 yrs), Namche-7, Solukhumbu, Nepal 5. Mr. Ang Passang Sherpa (39 yrs), Namche-7, Solukhumbu, Nepal 6. Mr. Pemba Rinjee Sherpa (36 yrs), Juving-1, Solukhumbu, Nepal 7. Mr. Mingma Tsering Sherpa (25 yrs), Juving-1, Solukhumbu, Nepal “Apa Sherpa (expedition leader) has successfully climbed Mt. Everest for 17 times as per the records,” states the report. “At the same time, standing on the top of the Mt. Everest Mr. Apa Sherpa and Mr. Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa jointly released the travelogue book "Sagarmatha ko Aadhar Sibir bata"written by Mr. Prateek Dhakal. This event has made both the record holder climbers as the first book releaser on the top of the Everest relating to travelogue literature, and the above mentioned book has become the first of its kind released on the top of the world.” 8:30 a.m. to 10:40 a.m.: Koreans Three korean members and two High Altitude Workers, sharing permit with the "Sky High Scouts on Everest" team reached the top as follows: 1. Mr. Hongbin Kim (43 yrs), Republic of Korea at 10:40 am. 2. Mr. Junghyun Youn (37 yrs), Republic of Korea at 11:45 am. 3. Mr. Mi-Gon Kim (35 yrs), Republic of Korea at 8:34 am. 4. Mr. Mingma Tengi Sherpa (33 yrs), Yaku-9, Sangkhuwasabha, Nepal at 8:35 am. 5. Mr. Sanu Sherpa (30 yrs), Makalu-9, Sangkhuwasabha, Nepal at 10:40 am. 9:45 a.m: Swede Johan Nilson Johan Earnst Nilson (38 yrs), from Sweden, topped-out at 9:45 a.m. He is an independent climbing sharing permit with the 11 team-member “Dream Everest Expedition 2007," outfitted by Asian Trekking. 9:15 to 9:45 a.m.: Nepal’s Lions “Three Nepalese members and one high altitude worker of "Nepal Television -Lions Everest Expedition 2007" team successfully climbed Mt. Everest at the following time respectively,” states the report: 1. Mr. Sonam Sherpa (35 yrs), Beni-9, Solukhumbu, Nepal at 9:15 A.M 2. Mr. Kami Sherpa (29 yrs), Jantarkhani-9, Okhaldhunga, Nepal at 9:45 A.M 3. Mr. Lhakpa Gelje Sherpa (36 yrs), Tapting-1, Solukhumbu, Nepal at 9:15 A.M 4.
