This is a trekking circuit that requires adequate acclimatization. It is situated at the northern end of the Cordillera Blanca and links together the different valleys Los Cedros, Alpamayo and Santa Cruz on the western side of the range and the valleys Moyabamba, Tayapampa, Joncopampa, Tuctubamba y Hauripampa on the eastern side. It is a trek that involves the crossing of many high passes between 4400m and 4850 and numerous panoramic views are enjoyed including those of Alpamayo, Santa Cruz, Quitaraju, Jancururish, the Caraz chain, Artesonraju, Paria, and Taulliraju. This circuit is considered to be the longest, most beautiful and most challenging in the Cordillera Blanca and takes 11 days to complete.

ITINERARY :
Day 1:

Huaraz (3 100 m.) – Huishcash (4 100 m.). Via Caraz Hualcallan.

Day 2:

Huishcash – Osoruri (4 400 m.) Crossing high pass at 4850m.

Day 3:

Osoruri – Jancarurish (3 800 m.). Crossing high pass at 4750m.

Day 4:

Jancarurish – Hike to the view point of Alpamayo and return to camp.

Day 5:

Jancarurish - Huillca (4 000 m.). Crossing 2 high passes at 4830m and 4500m.

Day 6:

Huillca - Jancapampa (3 700 m.). High pass at 4860m.

Day 7:

Jancapampa. Rest day.

Day 8:

Jancapampa - Quishuar (3 850 m.). High pass-Tupatupa (4 450 m.).

Day 9:

Quishuar - Tuctu (4 200 m.). High pass of  Pucaraju (4 650 m.).

Day 10:

Tuctu – Taullipampa (4 250 m.). High pass Punta unión (4 750 m.).

Day 11:

Taullipampa – Llamacorral (3 760 m.) Side trip up to the base campo f Alpamayo and lake Arhuaycocha.

Day 12:

Llamacorral – Cashapampa (2900 m.). Descent to Cashapampa (2900m).
