More commonly known as the roof of the Americas, with a height of 6962m above sea level. Situated in the Republic of Argentina, Province of Mendoza, Department of Heras, the mountain does not lie on the international border since its waters flow through argentine territory.
Topominia : Akon Kaqua, of Quechua origin, meaning “Stone Sentry”. Thus named by the Incas on their arrival from the Holky City of the Sun (Cusco), the Incas traveled south taking with them culture and language.
Climbing Season: December through March.
